They actually read your posts. Most blog aggregators are just plain RSS feed readers of sorts. People do not participate, they do not help with promotion. With Blogengage, not only is it a type of agregator, but the people who vote your story up most probably will also read it as well as even comment on your post. Why does it work? Well it's all about bloggers helping other bloggers. About engaging your audience. You scratch my back I scratch yours.
