A Relaxing Weekend at the Dead Rooster Mansion

Photo Credit: Drunken Monkey
As you can imagine, yesterday’s CNN exposure sparked quite a bit of attention: telephone lines were jammed; reporters with microphones were clawing at my door; a string of local news vans were scattered along the front yard; helicopters were circling; and there were at least TWICE as many supermodels hanging around here than usual. The whole thing wore me out, so I think I’m just going to take it easy this weekend.
I’m going to stay away from the computer as much as possible; yesterday, with all the hoopla, I wound-up staring at the computer screen for so long that my eyes practically liquefied in their sockets and ran down my cheeks. I need a little break.
Of course I’ll have to check-in every so often to BlogCatalog Message Board and my blog’s comments sections to see if there’s any action, but for the most part, I’m cruzin’.
Maybe I’ll try to finish reading Eric Knapp’s novel, Cluck: Murder Most Fowl so I can do a review next week as promised in an earlier post. I’ll spin-up some margaritas in the blender, grab a recliner out on the back patio and read.
Zombie Chickens and margaritas—it’s a winning combination!

@Jillian,
…and, it’s only going to get HOTTER! Which can only mean there will be MANY margaritas consumed in the next few days. ![]()

Heh, so now do you sit at your computer in an ascot? All the famous richies sit at their computers drinking their beverage of choice and wearing ascots. It’s required equipment. I will toast your margarita with my current cup o’ java.

@Jenn,
What? Spill margarita all over my ascot! NEVER!
Actually, I’m more of a Jed Clampett type of millionaire (only more like BEFORE he became a millionaire). ![]()

@Mamaflo,
Yes, they ARE fabulous. The only problem is, it’s currently 102 degrees outside so I can’t sit out back like I had planned. ![]()

I’m sorry to hear how insanely hot it is where you live. It’s warm here today too but not that warm and we also have very tall trees that cast a good deal of shade. Looking at the margarita’s in your photo made me crave one so I think I’ll go mix myself one and pull up a chair in the shade.
Best regards, TT

@timethief,
Luckily, the Dead Rooster Mansion has great air-conditioning. I would rather be outside today though. ![]()

@ettarose,
Well, you KNOW I could never forget YOU! It was your famous story where a dead rooster saves-the-day that launched my career! ![]()

@Claire,
Maybe if you put some clothes on once-in-a-while you wouldn’t catch cold!
Yeah, I took my shower, but I’m all for taking another one. ![]()

@Debbie,
Thanks! It was for a good cause. Not only that, but I just learned that the Myanmar government is letting some relief workers into remote areas. Maybe the blogging community was able to make an impact after all. ![]()

@Claire,
Oh, I’m the dirty one? I saw your “hens night” expose’…oh, wait, I AM the dirty one…
I heard this morning that they were letting some relief workers in–I haven’t heard anything further.

I can’t imagine that so much attention didn’t have some impact. Feel proud to have been a mover and a shaker, even if the shaking part is your margarita!
